Here’s an update to my piece about the Museum of Natural History’s exhibit on climate change in which I mentioned that in the future bears would be competing for food and territory:

Can you imagine Polar Bears, the largest of all bears, with coats more blonde than white as result of vitamin deficiency, challenging Grizzlies, Kodiaks and Giant Browns for the rights to coveted salmon holes? I had neglected to mention that in warmer climates algae is capable of forming within the hollow shafts of the polar bear’s fur in effect turning the bear GREEN!
