Known informally as the ‘Chorus Project,’ this group serves as a social outlet for physical expression. It is a safe place, and most everyone is welcome. There is no price to join. It is completely FREE. Donations, however, are appreciated.
We explore all avenues of dance and performance, which include: Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Break Dancing, Ballroom, Interpretive, Mime, Freestyle, Improv, Martial Arts, Unconventional, etc. More than anything, this group functions in an environment conducive to learning and is open to new ideas.
In addition to the enjoyment of dance and movement, our ultimate goal is the public performance of original choreographed routines. Stay posted for news on such performances.
Certain Rules Apply:
- Please be aged 18+.
- Everybody dances. If this is your first time at the project, be prepared to demonstrate your dance knowledge before the standing members of the group. I recommend preparing a mix and choreography in advance.
- Violence towards any members in the group will not be tolerated. It is understandable that some dance moves and interactions with other members may get passionate and aggressive during a session, but any intentional acts of violence will result in immediate removal and suspension from subsequent sessions until further notice.
- This group is not intended for professionals, but all are welcome. Any input or workshops proposed will also be considered.
What to Expect:
- Contact me to reserve a spot at one of our sessions.
- Show up ON TIME. If late contact me via cell.
- Attire: Dress comfortably. No street shoes, black soles or hard soles. Bare feet, inside sneakers are OK.
- Sessions run 2 hours unless specified otherwise. Bring your favorite music, and get ready to boogie!
- The first 30 minutes to 1 hour of the session is dedicated to free dance, and serves as the the preliminary warm-up.
- If it is your first time at the AMDance Project, you will be asked to perform before the rest of the group. You may do so at any point during the session. (see rule #3 above)
- No food or drink allowed on dance floor and carry out all food garbage.
- Remember to clean up after yourself. The project and the rehearsal facility are not responsible for stolen articles.
- We, nor the facility, will not be held accountable for personal injury incurred on the premises.
Look forward to seeing you there!
