Street Campaign

From 2003 to 2006, I endeavored to disseminate art via the street and public works. Initially, I started with pre-printed posters intended for target practice as commentary to the violence occurring on the streets of Savannah, Ga where I attended art school.

As I traveled, I moved to large scale, life-size hand-drawn portraits and figurative illustrations. My subjects were invariably women, the classic muses and boyish crushes. Body posture was to convey the message. Votive, peaceful, dreaming and curious, most always with eyes closed.

I traveled across America, pasting these totems where I could. Less than half survived the curing process over night, having succumbed to overzealous hands tearing them down. What you see are those fortunate enough to make it, if not for a short time.

Today, my poster work can be found in installations and spaces both public and secret. Currently, I am working on a project set to come out this summer 2009. Stay posted.
